Missouri man killed three police officers and wounded three others in Baton Rouge Lousiana on Sunday during a time when police nationwide in the Louisiana city is on high alert after the five police officers killed in Dallas ambush last July 7.
Louisiana State Police department said last week that they received many threats against Baton Rouge police officers.
Gunman identified as Gavin Long of Kansas City make rampage shooting on his 29th birthday that two police officers and a sheriff’s deputy dead, CNN reported. Long, was was a former Marine and African-American.
One of the victim identified by family members as Officer Montrell Jackson, the 2 others is Officer Matthew Gerald and Brad Garafola sources said.
Police officers who patrolled to Sunday’s shootings killed gunman in a gunbattle after the other police officer were ambushed, police sources told CNN. Authorities recovered weapon AR-15 style semi-automatic rifle that Long is believed to have use in the attack.
Meanwhile authorities still investigating at Long’s possible links to black separatist groups.
