A chronicle of the Philippine Navy’s continuing journey towards becoming the strong and credible force

Together, the Active Archipelagic Defense Strategy (AADS) and the Philippine Navy Sail Plan 2020 define the strategic direction for the Navy, aligning them with the thrusts and general direction being taken by the Armed Forces as a whole. In the face of modest resources and growing urgency of the country’s maritime security issues, adhering to this direction has constantly provided the Navy with greater capacity to sustain its operations, combining the force of its Fleet and Marine components.
