Peter Lim, the Cebuano businessmen who then recently met with President Rodrigo Duterte, were the same person included in the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s (PDEA) list of targeted drug personalities.
PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña confirmed in a statement that Peter Lim’s name is included in the updated list of targeted individuals who are then have links to drugs that was submitted to the President.
“The list is a product of regular intelligence workshops where PDEA and the Philippine National Police (PNP) validate information about drug suspects. Upon validation, they will be the subject of future negation operations,” he said, SUN STAR reports.
The National Bureau of Investigation is now conducting an investigation against Cebu businessman Peter Lim after Duterte advised the drug suspect to submit himself to authorities to clear his name.
Just recently, Peter Liim met with President Duterte last month in Davao City and claimed that he was not a drug lord.
“PDEA is still waiting for the result of the NBI’s investigation on Lim. Once evidence indicates that Lim is one of the top three drug lords operating in the country, then the NBI will file a case against him before the Department of Justice (DOJ),” Lapeña said.
