A Filipino father has bitten a crocodile in Palawan, Philippines just to save his 12 year old son, who is in the jaw of the reptile.
Diego Abulhasan, 12, had been swimming with his younger brother in a river near the family abode in Balabac town, when a crocodile attacked and dragged him underwater.
Tejada Abulhasan, Diego’s father, heard his screams and help him, and sprinted 100 yards from his home to the river and dived in, armed with a plank of wood.
He began battering the predator and repeatedly punched its snout- but it would not let go of his son.
In act of helplessness, Abulhasan grabbed hold of the reptile and bit its leg several times like a “Rottweiler”.
Miraculously, the crocodile released the boy and swam away in the murky water.
The father bring his injured son to the shore and rushed him to hospital.
When asked by the police, Abulhasan did not hesitate to swim into river just to save his son.
According to Superintendent Socrates Faltado, spokesman of MIMAROPA police, it was a bravery act and resulted into a fortunate situation.
Balabac town, and even Palawan, known as Philippine’s last frontier, is also popularized due to its abundance of crocodiles and other creatures.
