Love hot pot so much that you only wish you were allowed to bathe in the delicious soup? Well, your extremely odd wish has now been granted!
A hotel in Hangzhou has refashioned one of its hot spring pools to look like a giant hot pot, dividing it off into sections and filling each with a different colorful vegetable.
Guests are then invited to take a dip and munch on some skewers — which does seem to defeat the purpose of the whole thing a bit.
While some may call them unholy and unsanitary, hot spring hot pots for humans are starting to become a thing throughout China. Last October, one opened at a tourist site in the spicy city of Chongqing.
This new Chinese tourist attraction might make you lose your appetite.
Hotel in Hangzhou, China, as part of a Lunar New Year promotion, has kitted out one of its hot spring pools to resemble a steaming human hot pot.
But instead of just cooking meat and vegetables in the bubbling bath, hungry guests can jump in and munch their way through, too.
First World Hotel reportedly launched the dining destination to advocate healthy lifestyles going into the new year, which begins on February 5.
The colourful culinary spectacle takes place in a rectangle-shaped bath separated into nine compartments, each filled with one type of fruit or vegetable.
Images of the eating experience show one stuffed with limes, another with corn, one with mushrooms and another with vibrant red peppers.
Additional photos show guests devouring kebab skewers running the length of the pool — and packed with meat and veg, which they rip right off, hands-free, with their teeth.
Hey, it is officially the “Year of the Pig,” after all.
“Let’s hope this hot pot is equipped with a high-quality drainage system.”
