We filipinos working here abroad enjoy the preference when it comes to work its because of our diligence, discipline and abilities to our assigned work. Most of us are well versed when it comes to global standards and abide it in our job. we are happy that our dream of working in our own country is near a reality.Just hope the gov’t will protect the investors from leftist which basically are followers of communist idealism such as China.

good luck with the highest electrical cost in this part of the world and the spectacularly problematic labor laws…am not being sour, it’s just that, there is a reason why our manufacturing is so thin in servicing big companies, in spite of the fact that our work force is hardworking and can speak English…

Being a filipinos, we expect that by having a factory like Apple, other countries will be encourage to come here the philippines to seek for better works most especially if other companies will creat their factories here. We expected also that samsung of korea will follow the same because their rivalry. this will put our country on top again as Ex president Marcos still our president of the Republic. Welcome in the Philippines APPLE.

Unfortunately this is a old story warmed up and this was already denied by Apple and Foxconn, they are merely looking at the option but due to the bad infrastructure situation in the Philippines this was ruled out already as it was not feasible

I can’t find any other news site reporting on this. Is there any reputable source that actually did come from Tim Cook’s mouth?
Moreover an actual press release from Foxconn or Apple?

This is a very positive sign for business and peaceful progress between the People’s Republic of China and the Philippines. Despite the declining climate of negativity between the two nations with regard to disputed territories in the South China Sea, I believe that Apple in China will have done their homework and would not be making this business move if they did not believe that the long term future is bright

cheap labor + overpriced phone = $$$
Apple factories had been an issue in china because people got exposed in hazardous chemicals which resulted in severe health problems and even death.
Philippines a.k.a. The Failed Nation, which they had been using SLUMP SQUATTER UNEDUCATED people giving Cheap labors and gaining more profit in an Overpriced Pay to Use App Phone.

If you believe this you are in a dream.. If it was true then beware because the Philippines Government does not protect it’s workers either within the country or those working abroad… The PI Government is out for itself, it’s political elite and the rich.

Pls. keep in mind that the employer is Foxconn not Apple. A Taiwanese manufacturing company who has been involved in several controversies including poor working conditions, long working hours, and underpaid employees. So, don’t hold your breadth guys.

Good point Jimmy D. Foxconn is a subcon company of Apple which is responsible for some components of Iphone. While it’s good news that thousands of our kababayans will be employed, the government should also be rigid that this company will follow international standards no only in their products, but with working conditions of employeed as well.

We believe in the American way of managing People, they are excellent
in motivating people, excellent in management from my point of view. As a management graduate and have experience here working abroad in Europe, I do say there is a big difference between European management and American management we can trace their principle in an early works such as Frederick Taylor, they treat workers as human not numbers and what we call Human Resources..
