Iranian authorities ban Pokemon Go over ‘security’

Iran becomes the first country to issue a ban of Pokemon Go game app due to worries over security concerns related to the game.

The decision was taken by the High Council of Virtual Spaces, as it overseeing the activity online. Iran said to be following other countries in expressing worries over security issues related to the game app.

Last month on reports said that Iranian authorities were waiting to see if the game’s creators would co-operate with them before the decision on banning the game takes place.

Some reports highlights Indonesia has banned police officers from playing the game while on duty, where a French player was arrested last month for straying on to a military base while trying to catch Pokemon, BBC reports.

Authorities in New York, earlier this week said that some 3,000 registered sex offenders would be ban from playing Pokemon Go while they are on parole.

The said ban aimed at safeguarding the children who play the game.
