The world’s oldest man has been named Mbah Gotho, an Indonesian who is 145 years old, has an official documentation showing he was born in 1870.
Reports says, Mr. Gotho has now outlived all of his 10 siblings, his four wives and his children. He said that he began preparing for his death in 1992, even having a gravestone made but 24 years later, he is still alive.
Mr. Gotho even told regional news network: “What I want is to die.”
“My grandchildren are all independent,”
He was needed to bathed and spoon-fed for the past three months and is becoming increasingly frail.
Mr. Gotho has official documentation showing his age, which the Indonesian records office said it has confirmed his birth date as December 31, 1870.
It the information is correct, this would earn him the title of the oldest person ever, that was currently held by French centenarian Jeanne Calment, who was 122 years old when she died — 23 years younger than Mr. Gotho.
If documents cannot verified independently, however, Mr. Gotho still, will not go down in the record books.
The oldest Indonesian man who is said to be 145 years-old told interviewers that he has had enough of life and wants to die.
When asked about his secret to a long life, Mr. Gotho said: “The recipe is just patience”.
