A McDonald’s franchisee officially opened “McDonald’s of the Future” that features self-serve kiosks for ordering meals and table service, as well as their (for a limited time) unlimited french fries.
“Unlimited fries are just the beginning of what’s different about [this restaurant],” Chris Habiger, owner of the Missouri-based restaurant told St. Joseph News-Press.
“We’re making a shift from fast food to fast-casual.” Habiger added.
Chris Habiger had run for 10 years a regular McDonald’s in St. Joseph Missouri before tearing it down and opened a high-tech renovated restaurant, Kansas City Star reports.
The 6,500-square-foot “McDonald’s of the Future” has its three-story play area (for kids) and armchairs and couches designed for relaxing in comfort.

“The demand has been like off the charts and we are doing the best we can to take care of our customers as quickly as possible,” Habiger told the newspaper.
“But it has been outstanding how many people are as excited about the McDonald’s of the Future as we are.” Habiger added.
