
FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – The Philippine Army K-9 team led rescuers to retrieve one remain of landslide victims in the mining area of Mankayan, Benguet by late Friday afternoon.
One of the two K-9 teams of the Philippine Army, led by Sgt Wilfredo M Fiesta, successfully retrieved one male cadaver, believed to be one of the missing pocket miners, while conducting search and retrieval operations at the landslide area in Brgy Taneg, Mankayan, Benguet at 4:20 p.m. on August 28.
The identity of said cadaver is still unknown as of this time.
The retrieval operation is in connection with the positive indication showed by MWD Roy within the vicinity.
The Army troops will continue to participate and provide assistance in the search and retrieval operations in the area.
