
MANILA – The Philippines is seeking to procure Attack submarines a senior Philippines naval official announced
Navy chief Vice Admiral Jesus Millan of Philippine Navy said acquiring submarines is part of the plan to modernize the naval Force of the Country but admitted it won’t be easy and can’t happen in just a one blink of eye
Nonetheless, an office to handle the development of submarine capability has been put up, said by navy official
Millan quoted “What we are pursuing of course is to take the initiative. The first important thing is to acknowledge the importance of such capability for our future requirements,”
Navy chief said that initial of the Philippines is to establish an office to start learning about discipline. because its important to learn about it and prepare the Filipino troops who will be involved in the development of such capability,
official said that the country was ultimately hoping to acquire at least three submarines but that financial constraints might limit them to only two vessels. “If you cannot afford three, get two just like we’re getting two frigates and two strategic sealift vessels so they can replace each other during maintenance. If you only procure one and continuously use it, it will only last for 5 years,
