Sen. Bongbong on visit to Davao—awaiting cabinet post?

The camp of Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. had met with the incoming President Rodrigo Duterte on Satuday, although the outgoing senator has made a courtesy visit in Davao City, but not been confirmed of any cabinet post. He asked about the details of their meeting, Marcos said he thanked the President-elect for his declaration even during at the time of his campaign allowing the burying of former President Ferdinand Marcos at the “Libingan ng mga Bayani”.

Sen.“Bongbong” also said that laying his father at the heroes’ cemetery would bring closure to their family and the nation as well, rather than division. The two also discussed the Presidents’ plans predominantly on crushing crimes and illegal drugs in the country. Marcos, despite lost to Vice President-elect Leni Robredo in the May 9 national elections. Duterte earlier said in a press conference that he was not driven to give Robredo a Cabinet post because of the “political reality” being friends with the Marcoses noting that his father was a Cabinet member during the administration of the late President Ferdinand Marcos.
