Roxas Blvd., Manila- The Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Pengiran Norazmi Bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad visited the Headquarters, Philippine Navy (HPN) on June 08, 2015, and rendered a courtesy call to the Flag Officer In Command, Philippine Navy (FOIC, PN) Vice Admiral Jesus C Millan.
First Admiral Norazmi who just assumed post on March 13, 2015 arrived Sunday for an official visit and introductory call to Philippine military and defense heads as the newly installed commander of RBN.
Prior his visit to HPN, First Admiral Norazmi made a courtesy call to the Secretary of National Defense (SND) and Chief of Staff Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP).
During his meeting with Vice Adm. Millan, First Admiral Norazmi expressed his enthusiasm in deepening and strengthening of the relationship between the PN and RBN.
The PN and RBN has a regular bilateral training codenamed Maritime Training Activity Seagull (MTA Seagull) hosted alternately to strengthen the bilateral relationship and enhance the mutual cooperation and understanding between the two navies.
MTA Seagull is held every other year in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Defense Cooperation between the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam signed on August 22, 2001 which serves as a framework for fostering closer defense relations and cooperation between the armed forces of both countries.
